Struggling To Care

Hyderabad, in Southern India, is known as "Health City", since the indian government finances an increasing number of private hospitals which are rapidly imposing a new model of healthcare. Private hospitals are cleam, reassuring and as expensive as five star hotels. But inside these modern structures labour conditions are dramatic and medical assistance unqualified. Public hospitals suffer from this politics as they are left in a financial decay, but remain the only place where patients receive proper care. Rajamani, Nagamani and Mary are nurses in three different hospitals of the city: one public, one private, one missionary. Observing their work and lives, the film provides a passionate and committed insight on the indian healthcare system beyond appearance and prejudice.
